Overview
If you are having trouble with SIMS, following these steps will assist technical support in isolating the cause of the problem and, in many cases, will fix the problem so you don't have to contact technical support.
Step 1: Create a backup
It's always a good idea to create a backup before continuing with the steps that follow. See the Backing Up Your SIMS Database article for step-by-step instructions.
Step 2: File Maintenance
File Maintenance will correct many issues that can occur with your SIMS database. See the File Maintenance article for step-by-step instructions.
Step 3: CleanDbc
CleanDbc is a utility used for troubleshooting issues with your SIMS database. If File Maintenance did not fix your issue, CleanDbc is the next thing to try. See Using the CleanDbc utility for step-by-step instructions.
Step 4: Create a Steps Recorder report
Steps Recorder is a Windows tool that helps troubleshoot a problem by recording the exact steps necessary to reproduce it. If none of the steps above helped with your issue, please follow the instructions in this Windows support article to generate a Steps Recorder report file. Send the file as an email attachment to support@flantech.net once generated.
